For hundreds of years people have recognised the significance of natural gemstones for their beauty, value and the potential healing properties they can possess.

I was properly introduced to this belief about 2 years ago by a good friend of mine. She had turned to natural therapies having been in hospital with a life-threatening illness that had been caused by her stressful lifestyle, and significantly compounded by the unseen everyday stresses our bodies are under from constant exposure to modern technology; laptops, televisions etc, (known as Electro-Magnetic stress - EMS) and Geopathic stress (natural variations in the electro-magnet radiation from the Earth's core). As a counter-measure to the effects induced by "modern living" she looked to holistic therapies to help her recover and started to look into crystal therapy. She quickly started to see improvements and eventually made a complete recovery, in contrast to all the doctor's preditctions. She has now built crystal therapy into her everyday life - she always wears natural gemstone jewellery, and has a number of larger stones around the house to help lower the EMS. To date she hasn't had any further syptoms from her illness and is confident the gemstones played a large part and will keep her healthy for the future.

Some people are naturally more susceptible to these environmental stresses and they can take a big toll on the body. That feeling you get after sitting in front of a computer screen for a while; headaches, drowsiness, fuzzy headed, can all be due to EMS given out by your machine, and wearing protective gemstones against your skin can really help to relieve some of those symptoms. Even just placing a natural crystal on, or near, your computer can help to absorb some of the emissions and lower your stress levels significantly. I, personally, have always struggled to sit at a computer for any great length of time before a headache sets in, and have found that since making a conscious effort to wear gemstones to target this it has had a very positive effect. I now feel far less "run-down" after a session at my desk than I used to.

The healing properties can also extend well beyond this simple usage, from helping with common ailments and complaints to far more serious and potentially life-threatening diseases.
