Birthstones

Gemstones have long been associated with good things; health, prosperity, luck, happiness, and much more, and there is also a natural affinity between gemstones and the zodiac. Certain stones are assigned to a specific star sign because of a resonance between them and they may be assigned due to the month of birth, or due to the planets connected to a sign.

If you're new to crystals and crystal healing, birthstones are the ideal place to start. People are often drawn to their birthstones, and with so many gemstones to choose from it can be daunting to start looking for your perfect stone, unless you have a very specific idea of what you're looking for. Also if you're trying to choose a stone for someone else, going for one of their birthstones is usually a safe and wise choice.

Unlike the traditional charts you might be used to, each sign is actually assigned any number of stones, and stones can be also assigned to more than one sign, so you still have plenty to choose from. I've put the key stones in bold at the front of the list for easy recognition. The best thing to use when choosing gemstones is your intuition - if you feel instinctively drawn to a particular stone, go for that (if you want to read more about it's specific properties you can visit our gemstone directory, coming soon).

Aquarius (Jan 20 - Feb 18):
